Our HistoryIn 1979, Ms. Debby G. Levy co-founded Levy Security Consultants Ltd., with her husband, Barry W. Levy. The company grew as a result of their focus on quality and strong customer relationships. Approximately 12 years ago, Barry Levy passed away unexpectedly, leaving Debby to manage the business they had started together. Ms. Levy cites a strong executive team – many of whom had worked with her and her husband since the company’s early days – for helping to sustain the company and shepherd its growth. Today, Levy Security – which still services its first client, Century Shopping Centre – has grown to nearly 1000 employees, and is recognized nationwide for developing customized security programs for world-class hospitals, retailers, shopping centers, commercial properties, corporate complexes, residential communities and educational institutions. In 2004, under Ms. Levy’s leadership, Levy Security’s management team established an affiliate company, Premier Security Corporation, which services high-end commercial properties. The new company has quickly grown to 250 employees. Ms. Levy serves as chairperson and CEO of both companies. Recently receiving the "2006 Woman Business Owner of the Year Award" from National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Levy states, “NAWBO’s recognition really acknowledges the entire Levy team’s dedication and accomplishments over the past 27 years,” noted Debby Levy. “When we founded Levy Security, we did so with the ambitious goal of setting the standards of excellence and commitment by which all others should be measured. This award reflects that our team has done just that, and the best is yet to come.”
